Can you imagine if we had a remote control for our lives? Some of us would wear out the fast forward button, skipping the boring or sad parts ahead to the fun times, the parties, weddings, honeymoons, accomplishments. Others, like me, would be hitting the ‘pause’ button all the time, looking at a situation from every angle and deciding exactly what, how, and when to do the best thing. The fact that time waits for no man is a great incentive to address whatever issues you have, because right now is the perfect opportunity.
What do you think?
Fast forwarding through time would merely move your consciousness to a predetermined date. Pausing time would also pause your consciousness. What you need is a quantum mirror to peer into the different probable dimensions that each life choice would create.
ReplyDeleteLike, in reality p, x happens, but in reality q, y happens, so pick reality p.
ReplyDeleteBut If there's some aspect of our consciousness that exists outside of time, the soul for instance, then would freezing time freeze our earthly selves but leave our souls free to operate?
Metaphysics...
So a remote that manipulates time is no big deal to presuppose, but making it one that accounts for freedom of consciousness is out of the question?
ReplyDeleteUm...duh? Didn't you get the memo? Only one outrageous presupposition, and then you have to be real again.
